How it Works

Unlike manual crimpers that rely solely on hand force, a hydraulic crimping tool uses a hydraulic pump mechanism to generate a much greater force with minimal effort from the user.

3. Activation: The user operates a pump handle. This action forces hydraulic fluid to build up pressure within a cylinder, which in turn pushes a piston.
4. Compression: The piston moves, compressing the dies together with immense force (often up to 8 or 10 tons). This pressure deforms the cable lug onto the cable, creating a secure, permanent, and low-resistance electrical connection.
5. Release: Once the crimp is complete, a release knob or valve is opened, allowing the hydraulic fluid to return to the reservoir and the dies to retract.
